Also have an older Brownning rifle Howdy all, I'm new to this forum but this thread caught my attention, as I own an older Browning rifle and have similar questions. From serial numbers were followed by the date of manufacture. I bought the rifle from my father-in-law before he passed away. I apparently have a Safari 7mm Magnum with Ser 4LXX which sounds like an uncommon number marking according to what I've read here.

Out of all of the serial numbers I have been able to read, I've seen the following; There were 17 readable serial "s for as the year reported manufactured. Or am I confused???
